Shane Mancuso is currently in his 5th year of study in the Architectural Engineering Program at Penn State University. In May 2017, he will graduate with an Integrated Bachelor/Master of Architectural Engineering degree, with a focus in structural systems. Shane is involved in organizations such as the Penn State Chapter of Structural Engineers Association, a group involved in providing students with opportunities to visit national conventions and also connect with some of the industry’s top leaders. Outside of academics, Shane enjoys staying physically active. Getting involved in activities such as tennis, skiing, and weight training.

Shane’s experience goes back to his high school summers where he worked as a laboring contractor for his father’s contracting business. Here he gained hands on experience in residential construction and renovations. Moving into Shane’s college internships, he has had two architectural engineering internships. The first was with Penn State’s Office of Physical Plant (OPP). This was a construction management internship where he assisted with job site supervision of multiple renovation projects at the University Park campus. The second internship just recently completed in the summer of 2016, was a structural design and forensics engineering internship with Tarantino Engineering Consultants (TEC). At TEC Shane was involved in the design, modeling and drafting of a variety of commercial and residential projects as well as structural damage assessments. In the summer of 2015, Shane participated in the AE department’s study abroad program based in Rome, Italy studying ancient architecture and structural analysis.
